Here's a little story. It might lead up to something.
:B
There was a point in time, where before Concept Galaxy really came to fruition, that Stephanie Chateau sold comic books at conventions. Because booths at conventions are expensive and artists have little money (supplies are even more expensive) She would get tables in Artist Alley.
At one particular
AFO, she sat next to Heather... whom was playing music to try and drown out the dreadful sounds emanating from a table down the way.
Well, Stephanie had a partner siting at the table that was tired of hearing music outside of her particular range of flavors and had donated a CD to this cause... and was forgotten about.
Exactly one year later, at the same show, Heather returned the CD.
There was discussion about meeting up at an Artist Alley at
another show and they both figured that they would give it a try... and it stunk. Due to lack of interest at the tables, and very little in the way of artwork sales, they got to talking.
As it turned out, Stephanie needed a website that was properly maintained, and Heather needed something to do. So they collaborated and got a site up for Stephanie's comics, which was then called "Galaxy Productions".
Well, Stephanie and Heather could have parted ways then, but Stephanie had been invited back to
PersaCon - a show that she had been a guest at since it's beginning. Not wanting to disappoint the crowd there by repeating things from years before, she offered to do a themed event in which she would take her current cosplay project (Carmen Sandiego) and have a scavenger hunt.
This was a well-accepted idea and Stephanie realized that she would need help. So she asked some friends to come up to Alabama with her so that things would run a little bit more smoothly than if it were just her. Since Heather had helped set up
another website as a precursor to the event, she was invited along as well.
This worked out
well, but since the scavenger hunt was only on Saturday, Heather had not much to do the rest of weekend.
Stephanie on the other hand was very busy and thus allowed Heather to use her pre-assigned artist alley table (which was then also shared with
Lisa Furukawa). During the whole time at the table, Heather answered questions about the interactive event that Stephanie ran the day before.
Well, as Stephanie developed a passion for creating stage shows and games she spent less and less time behind an artist table. Heather, on the other hand, continued to run artist alley tables under her own
studio name. Since she often accompanied Stephanie to shows (and visa versa) it had become known that questions about these "interactive events" could be answered by her. Eventually she started allowing Stephanie to leave stuff on her table as well.
Thus the Dragonmun Studios / Concept Galaxy table was formed.
If you guys have any questions about upcoming events and would like to speak to someone in person about Concept Galaxy stuff (or perhaps buy some
comics), the Dragonmun Studios table is a place that you can do it.
